As an important part of the Singapore Chinese Music Festival and the Singapore Guqin Arts Festival, the Singapore Guqin Competition has witnessed the infinite charm and vigorous development of Guqin Arts as the world's "Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity" since its inception in 2021. The competition has invited hundreds of Guqin players and artists from different countries and regions to serve as Professional Adjudicators and hold concerts, seminars and talks, etc., and has attracted thousands of contestants from more than ten countries and regions. It has become an important event for the discovery and cultivation of talents of Guqin Arts around the world. This year coincides with the 60th anniversary of Singapore's independence and the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Singapore. The 2025 Singapore Guqin Competition will focus on the inheritance and development of Guqin Arts at home and abroad, and hold an on-site final in Ningde, China. During the competition, a series of events such as the Guqin Arts Exhibition of Famous Guqin Artists, the "A Beneficial Performance of “The Glory of East Fujian”" Guqin Masters Concert and several seminars and talks by famous artists will be held. Professional Category: (1) It is divided into three phases: preliminary round, semi-final and final, and each phase is evaluated independently (2) There is no limit on the number of contestants who can advance to the semi-final, and the number of contestants who can advance to the final is the top 10 in each category (3) Semi-finalists who fail to advance to the final will receive the “Outstanding Performance Award” and exquisite certificates and prizes (4) Honorary Gold Award and Gold Award winners will have the opportunity to be invited to perform in Singapore (at their own expense) (5) In addition to receiving exquisite certificates or trophies, each finalist and instructor will also receive the following prizes and reward: Non-professional Category: (1) There are two phases: the qualifying and the finals. The final score of the contestants is calculated by converting the regional finals and the global finals at a ratio of 2:8. The winners of the honorary gold and gold awards of the finals will have the opportunity to be invited to perform in Singapore (at their own expense). (2) The qualifying phase is divided into the following three major regions with a total of 10 sub-regions ① Singapore and Malaysia Region ② China Region a. Northwest China (Shaanxi, Gansu, Xinjiang, Qinghai, Ningxia) h.Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan ③ International Region (other countries and regions in Asia, Europe and the United States) (3) The awards for the qualifiers are as follows. Participants who score 80 or above in each category can advance to the finals. Participants who fail to advance will receive a "Participation Certificate": (4) The awards for the finals are as follows: All finalists will receive exquisite prizes and certificates. Contestants with a total score of 80 or above in each category will be eligible to apply for an "Outstanding Instructor Award". PART 03 Registration time and fees 1. Registration and video submission for each category: from now until 16:00 on June 15 2. Results query and final registration: late June 3. The registration fee for the online preliminary/qualifying round is SGD 76/RMB 380, and the registration fee for the ensemble group is SGD 38/RMB 190 per person (Note: Members of the Guqin Association of Singapore and Ningde Guqin Association are exempt from the judging fee for any category of preliminary/qualifying rounds) 4. The fees for the on-site semi-final/final will include the judging fee, tickets for concerts of famous guqin masters, Seminars and talks by Famous Guqin Artists, etc., which will be announced in mid-June, so stay tuned. PART 04 Participation requirements 1. The video file format for the competition is MP4 or MOV, with file size NOT exceeding 500MB. The video content must not be edited or clipped, and the performers must be recorded with full front view and with synchronous audio. It is recommended to use a camera or a newer mobile phone to record the video. The mobile phone recording is set to 1080p 30fps (the default setting can be used directly). Please be sure to use the rear camera of the mobile phone for recording and must be done in landscape (otherwise it is considered a violation). The performance video recording adopts one position lens to record continuously, and no beautification operation shall be done, and no editing or modification shall be made after the recording is completed. 2. Registration process: The contestant is to scan the QR code below to add Guoqin.com Teacher Yan/Guoqin.com customer service number, registration information and submit relevant information, pays the corresponding registration fee, and establishes a personal account for the competition. Upload the video file that meets the preliminary review requirements to the competition system. 3. The registration fee is non-refundable or non-transferable. 4. All prizes can be left vacant or adjusted, and the organizing committee reserves the right to revoke all awards and prizes of candidates who breach the rules and regulations of the competition. The organizing committee also reserves the right to disqualify any candidates if any of the rules are not adhered to. 5. The postage of the prizes will be paid by the award winners 6. the organizing committee has the right to change the venue and selection criteria of the competition. 7. Upon completion of the registration, each and every participant concur that he or she agrees with the relevant rules and regulations of the competition.
